The Centenary was found on July 17th, 1986 at the Premier Mine. Only a handful of people knew about it and all were sworn to silence. On March 11th, 1988, the centenary celebrations of De Beers took place in Kimberly and a banquet was held to close the Kimberly Mine also known as the Big Hole. Over 400 people were in attendance.

Begging is not allowed and yet beggars are very common in India. They
can be seen at places of worship platforms, road-crossings, monuments,
fairs and streets. They wander from street to street, locality to
locality and from one bazaar to another. They beg for money, food,
clothes etc. in alms. They often create trouble and cause nuisance.
Sometimes they commit thefts, pick pocketing and such other anti-social
acts.

Street hawkers are very common in India. They can be found here, there
and everywhere. There is hardly any village, town or a city without
street hawkers. They have been there for countries. They go from one
town to another town and street for selling their various articles.
