Random Event Generators And The Global Consciousness Project

The Global Consciousness Project utilizes random event generators (REGs) in an effort to tap a postulated human consciousness field that may encircle the Earth. The REGs have been operating in the background, all around the world, for seven years running.
This project is a multidisciplinary collaboration among approximately 100 scientists, engineers, artists and others, to study the effects of consciousness and how it interacts with physical systems.

Applications are now being taken by the European Space Agency (ESA) for volunteers interested in making a simulated trip to Mars. The experiment is being conducted by the Russian Institute of Biomedical Problems and is planned for the duration of 520 days. Mars500 will replicate the anticipated conditions encountered on a spaceflight to the red planet, including watching the Earth disappear in the distance, and experiencing the 40 minutes required for transmission of signals between the Earth and the spacecraft. The food to be served will be the same as that provided to the astronauts on the International Space Station, also including the simulated exploration of the Martian surface.

Murano Italy, a small town north of Venice, has set the world standard for glasswork and beads, including Murano Rosary Beads, making it the glass capital of the world,. Tracing back to the 9th century, Murano glass and beads have a long history. The artwork, innovation and craftsmanship have grown in tradition though the centuries.
Murano was a large port, along with Venice allowing it to use the glass as a trading staple with its is Asian and African neighbors. One of the earliest uses and stories was about how glass was blown into the shape of bottles dating back as far as 1083 and elevated to the glass capital of the world in the 13th century.
