Questions Answered

It is always good to have someone answer your questions - especially when that person knows what they are talking about.
When Jesus Christ poured out the Holy Spirit in the Temple, seven weeks after He was raised from the dead, all the disciples present were filled with the Spirit of God, and as they overflowed at the mouth, they spoke in tongues. They praised and worshipped God in languages they had never learned.
Now this still happens. Over these past years we have witnessed this around the globe.
“What does this mean?” was the question the onlookers asked on that occasion in Jerusalem.
Peter replied, explaining in a very simple way, how God said He would do this.
Jesus had made it clear to these disciples that if they patiently waited in Jerusalem they would receive this anointing - the Power of the Holy Spirit.
Peter emerges as the leader and he gives strong positive dynamic leadership. At the heart of his explanation lies the fact that this Jesus, who was crucified, is risen from the dead and alive.
So powerfully effective was his answer that those who heard had a second question - “What shall we do?” Peter had satisfied their first question.
The second question is even more important - and just as necessary.
People always want to do something. It is vital, particularly at such a pivotal point in their lives, that they are told the correct thing to do. Peter told them to repent and turn to God. Let every one of you be baptized, so that your sins may be forgiven - and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Here we have answers from a leader who knows how to lead.
