Concrete is considered as one of the most strong and durable building materials because the right mix of concrete can withstand different weather conditions and the usual wear and tear that take their toll on some of the less sturdy building materials. If your foundation does not have an adequate water drainage system to drain excess water and you do not have a sufficient water barrier on the exterior basement walls, you will have a damp or soggy basement and subsequently, this will lead to mold.
