Chantix Considered a More Suitable Smoking Cessation Drug Than Nicotine Patches

The smoking cessation drug Chantix, which has been allegedly linked to more than 40 suicides because of unforseen side effects that may cause depression and suicidal thoughts among patients, was recently discovered to be better than nicotine patches for quitting smoking. A study published in a medical journal found the drug to better nicotine supplements, even though the drug is under an FDA investigation.

The medical journal Thorax recently published the results of a smoking cession drug study, which found that individuals attempting to quit smoking were more successful at remaining cigarette-free by taking Chantix than those given nicotine patches.
